About Angela

Angela Hammond is Yorkshire born & bred, and has lived there for most of her life.

Until her marriage, she worked in the design department of a local carpet manufacturer, and attended part time the Regional College of Art, Bradford. After her marriage she worked alongside her husband in the family businesses, a Pharmacy and a Gift Shop. Since the sale of the businesses art has come to the forefront again.

Angela has three children, seven grandchildren and a cat.

She is a member of  Inner Wheel, and Menston Arts Club

Angela works in a variety of media, in particular acrylics and coloured pencil, and she enjoys experimenting with mixed media. There are also forays into other materials including watercolour, inks, and pastels.

Angela often works with coloured pencils and is a silver signature member of the UKCPS (United Kingdom Coloured Pencil Society)

She has exhibited in the Annual UKCPS Open International Exhibitions which are juried exhibitions on five occasions. She has also exhibited at the Derwent Pencil Museum, Keswick.

Most of her inspiration comes from her surroundings, home, family garden and sometimes holidays or days out. She loves colour and finds it fascinating and rewarding, enjoying combining, juxtaposing and layering colours to produce interesting effects, often using glazes to give extra zing.
